May 28th

Well, I'm on my way. We left Greenville this morning at around 8:30 and made it to Nashville tonight. Safe and sound in out hotel looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow and not having to go anywhere. Anyhow, going to keep this short and to the point. Love you guys and I'll talk to you soon!

42 days...

So I don't know who all reads this, but I figured I'd update it for all those who might read it. Well, it's getting close... I can't believe that by the end of next month I'll be on my way to Africa. Right now the biggest prayer request continues to be for peace. Not just for the trip but for what's going to happen after the trip too with work, college, and all that other fun stuff. It's going to be a crazy 8 months that for sure. Thanks you guys and I'll keep you updated if anything changes : ]

Kenya 2009 Update

72 days and counting....

Praise = Through donations and work, I have been able to raise enough money to pay for the airline tickets, and Conference. : ) That's a huge praise.

Prayer Requests = Pray for the Woodworth family as they get ready to head back to Kenya next week. Pray for their safety and for an easy adjustment to life in Kenya.
Pray that the visa application process will go smoothly and that there won't be any real big problems. And for continued peace as the time for the trip grows closer and the time with my friends and family grows smaller.

Random News = I will be leaving Greenville on the 24th of May directly after the morning service. We will be traveling up to Tennessee where we will meet the family I'll be flying with. I fly out on May 31st and arrive in Kenya on June 1st.

Prayer Requests

Well, I've got to pay for the tickets here coming up within the next two weeks and still am a little short on the funds I would greatly appreciate the prayer in this matter.  It's not that I don't have enough money to pay Mr. Richardson back, its more that it's going to take ALL the money I've got in my savings account and completely emptying my account just doesn't seem like the wisest thing to do right now.  It may come to that, but I'd appreciate the prayers and all as we try to get the funding sorted out and all that fun stuff.

Another prayer request, which is in it's own special way bigger than the money, is just for peace as the trip draws closer.  The thought of being away from all my friends and family for almost 5 months is a bit daunting!

Thanks you guys!  : )

Prayer Request

Okay, so the tickets have been bought!  There's no going back now.  I've got to pay for these tickets, which are less than originally thought but more than secondly thought, within the next one to three weeks.  They ended up being in between $1800 and $1900 because it costs more to fly into DFW than it does to fly into Austin or Houston.  $1000 dollars of the price has already been provided, if you guys wouldn't mind the prayers for the other $800 - $900 would be greatly appreciated.  God has reaffirmed this trip ever step of the way and I know He'll provide once again, but your prayers are desired still!  Thanks you guys!

WOOHOO ! ! ! ! !

Looks like the final price for the airline tickets is going to come out at $1600 and some dollars!  A full $600 dollars less than originally thought = )  Once again God provided in ways definitely not expected by me.

To Do Lists, countdowns, and excitement...

Looking at the calendar yesterday I decided that just for the fun of it I would go ahead and see how many weeks were left until I took off on the adventure of a lifetime... 17... wait... 17?  Which for those not so mathematically inclined(It's okay you guys, I had to use a calculator =P) works out to 119 days.  That may seem like a long time yet, but throw in school, work, church, meetings, shots, shopping, planning, and more work, and you've got to wonder where you're gonna find the time to to everything you have to do.  Which is exciting, but a little daunting at the same time!

Praise #2

I got a phone call the other day from someone who said that they had close to $1500 dollars saved up in an account that they wanted to use towards missions of some sort.  They generously offered to sponsor my trip to Kenya : )  Yay for big things!

Does everybody have a traveling buddy?

Praise #1
I've got me a traveling buddy!  A whole family of traveling buddies!  Another missionary family, the Johnsons are leaving for Kenya on May 31st the day before I was supposed to leave and they have generously offered to let me travel with them.  This is a HUGE praise because there was some concern over me traveling through London all by myself.  Now I should also  get to spend a day at Masters Mission in North Carolina and see everything there.  It also takes a big load off of the family knowing that there will be other people there to keep me from doing anything stupid :P

Getting started...

So, as most of you know I'm going to be going back to Kenya this year to work with the Woodworth family for about 4 months.  I've been asked a lot of questions about it so I decided to go ahead and set this up for those interested in staying up to date with all that's going on.  I'll post some pictures of where I'll be staying, prayer requests, and just how God has provided for everything as time goes on.
